Championship Tradition
 
In addition to 25 national championships, the University of Oklahoma has amassed 229 team conference titles. The Sooner football team won the Southwest Conference championship in 1915 -- it's first year ever in a conference for the sport. OU has claimed 41 conference titles, including five of the past eight Big 12 crowns. No other Big 12 team has more than two.
 
Men's tennis (30 titles), baseball (25), wrestling (21) men's basketball (20), men's gymnastics (17)  and men's golf (16) have all displayed eras of domination in conference play.
 
Most recently, both OU gymnastics teams, men's and women's, won conference titles in 2008. A complete list of conference championships by sport follows. An asterisk (*) indicates a conference tournament or post-season championship:
